Ocular Surface Tumors / Cancer

The cornea & ocular surface can be affected by two kinds of tumors, the benign tumors ( not malignant ) and the malignant tumors ( the malignant/ cancerous ).

Fortunately the ocular surface tumors are not so common.

But having said that it is important like any tumor to identify them earlier so they can be treated on time and cured.

Ocular Surface Squamous Neoplasia ( OSSN ) is a general term used to describe conditions like dysplasias to advanced squamous cell carcinoma also.

The other less common tumors are conjunctival melanoma and conjunctival lymphoma .

The treatment of each tumor varies, and it could be medical / surgical or both medical and surgical.
